No, that's not Britney getting out of a car...

It's the most ill-conceived toy ever, um, conceived. The Epidermits Thing is part robot, part Miami Ink, and part... Powered by fuel cell technology, and covered in a synthetic skin, the toy is customizable with tattoos, piercings and even tanning. The point, apparently, is to reconnect the kids with "real human interactions." Read more

Hyperbole alert: funniest thing I've ever seen

Well, it is very funny. I have a soft spot for Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. I know that puts me in squarely with the mouth-breathers, but, on the other hand, shut up. Watch Will Ferrell answering fan mail on Funny or Die. Read more

Pardon my french, mais je suis vert avec Envie

My favorite local Atlanta band right now is Envie. Shunning the conventions of both classical and rock and roll, they are a little hard to place into a neat box. Fronted by the crystalline voice of Renee Nelson, the band layers together complex melodies comprised of everything from electric guitar to violin to harp. Yep. Harp. Read more

Venice is Sinking - no it's a good thing

I just saw this Athens, GA band play live the other night and I was really blown away. The juxtaposition of distorted guitar over clean violin creates a dense wall of melody that you are sure to enjoy. The layering of rock and classical instruments over a driving beat reminds me of Arcade Fire, or, to a lesser extent Sufjan Stevens, while the vocals insinuate Pixies. Read more

I don't think this is what they mean by "sausage fest"

According to the Associated Press, a California man broke into the home of two farmworkers, "rubbing spices into the face of one man and smacking another with an 8-inch sausage." The local sheriff's department found the suspect "hiding in a field wearing only a T-shirt, boxers and socks." Insert joke here. Read more

This just in: world still here

Today, the Large Hadron Collider, the biggest atom smasher (and largest machine) ever created, started, well, atom-smashing. Despite the predictions of some arm-chair nuclear physicists that this would create a black hole that would swallow the Earth whole, we still seem to be here. Read more

If you're a fan of the trippy "kids" show, "Yo Gabba Gabba" (and honestly, who isn't?), then you want to let other hipsters know you're part of the club. This t-shirt should do the trick. An homage to one of the greatest (if not most repetitive) songs ever to be featured on the small screen. Read more
